DR. LUKMAN OLASUNKANMI OLUSESI
Dr. Lukman OLUSESI currently serves as the Medical Director at the Sikiru Adetona College of Education, Science, and Technology (SACOETEC), where his commitment to promoting health and well-being has left an indelible mark. Holding a medical degree from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Dr. Olusesi is a distinguished professional with a rich educational background.
His dedication to advancing healthcare communication was further honed during his tenure as a Commonwealth Professional Fellow in 2014. As a fellow, he collaborated with the Centre for Research in English Language and Linguistics (CRELL) at the University of Roehampton, London, UK, exploring the impact of language on Health Communication, particularly focusing on the Language of Immediate Environment.
He is not only a skilled medical practitioner but also a certified provider and instructor in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced First Aid through the American Heart Association, affiliating with Angel and Eagle Global Rescue Services. His commitment to education is evident through certifications as a Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certified teacher, Microsoft-certified educator, and Google Applied Digital Skills Ambassador. He is a web developer and an online course creator with special interest in LMS website development and administration. He currently coordinates Online Professional Diploma in Education for SACOETEC
In the realm of research, Dr. Olusesi has collaborated with fellow academics on various projects, delving into health and fitness, gender mainstreaming, intimate partner violence, among other crucial topics. He co-founded the X-Ryders Cycling Club, a testament to his belief in recreational cycling for health and fitness.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Olusesi is a member of Rotary International and holds the distinction of being a Past President of the Rotary Club of Ijebu-Ode. In 2019, he led a remarkable 370km multi-day cycling fundraiser for Polio eradication, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact beyond the healthcare setting.
With a passion for health promotion and healthy aging, Dr. Olusesi approaches his role with a focus on teaching and empowering individuals in his consulting room. His unique blend of medical expertise, educational affiliations, and community engagement exemplifies his dedication to fostering holistic well-being.
